Aaron Jones Is the Running Back to Own in Green Bay

Aaron Jones finished with over 100 rushing yards for the second time in three weeks. He accomplished this in Week 7 by significantly out-touching teammate Ty Montgomery, from whom it appears he has won the starting job.

Since filling in for Montgomery in Week 4 against the Chicago Bears, Jones has totaled no fewer than 13 carries in any single game. He has done this despite sharing the backfield with the now-healthy Montgomery for two of those weeks.

It seemed that Montgomery's return would ruin the fantasy value of both players after last week, too. Jones only managed 41 yards on 13 carries, while Montgomery ran for 28 yards on 10 carries. This was turning into a worst-case scenario with regard to the fantasy football value of each rusher.

However, Jones emerged as the clear lead back over the weekend, posting a convincing 17 carries for 131 yards and a touchdown while Montgomery took a back seat (4 carries for 6 yards). He even dominated the passing work out of the backfield, garnering five targets to Montgomery's two.

The Green Bay Packers may be looking to run the ball more in the coming weeks with backup Brett Hundley leading the offense, and Jones has shown that he is the clear front-runner for carries out of the backfield.
