Latavius Murray, RB, Minnesota Vikings

After starting out the season on fire, Dalvin Cook crumpled to the turf with a non-contact injury Sunday and he may be out for quite some time. The Minnesota Vikings believe the rookie runner may have suffered a complete tear of his ACL.

This is obviously a big blow for the Vikes, but even more so when we taking a look at our Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play metric. Among rushers with 30-plus carries this season, Cook's 0.07 mark ranks fifth.

This brings a ton of opportunity to Latavius Murray, who was the primary ball carrier in Cook's absence. While Murray only rushed for 21 yards on 7 carries (recording a Rushing NEP per play of -0.32), he did catch two passes out of the backfield, so he was clearly a key part of the offense.

With a 1,000-yard season under his belt from back in 2015, Murray has shown the ability to be an effective runner, and Minnesota will certainly need him after this injury.
