8 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 3
Kenny Stills, WR, Miami Dolphins
Kenny Stills was being treated as an afterthought in the Miami Dolphins wide receiver corps behind Jarvis Landry and DeVante Parker this offseason despite scoring 7 touchdowns over his final 10 games in 2016 and notching at least 5 targets in 6 of his final 7.
He picked up right where he left off to kick of 2017, though, scoring a touchdown while also being targeted five times in Week 2.
He's not a high-floor guy who is going to give you double-digit targets with an average depth of target (aDOT) below five yards like Landry, but his downfield usage (24.2 aDOT in Week 2, 14.3 in 2016) means he still plays a valuable role in Miami's offense. That's evidenced by his 34% market share of the team's air yards (a measure of how far downfield a player is when targeted) last week.
He draws a great matchup against the New York Jets, who have opened the season as the NFL's second-worst passing defense, according to numberFire's Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play metric, giving him big-time upside.
