Admittedly, this feels scary, but for the second straight week, we're going back to Goff.

Things are trending up for the Los Angeles Rams' offense. After an abysmal 2016 season, Goff and the Rams' attack generated some buzz in the preseason, and they capitalized on a dreamy Week 1 matchup against a Vontae Davis-less Colts' defense.

In the 46-9 Week 1 win, Goff played the best game of his young career, completing 21 of 29 passes for 306 yards and 1 score on his way to a QB14 finish.

This week's home matchup with Washington isn't nearly as inviting, but it's still a pretty sweet spot. Washington allowed Carson Wentz to throw for 307 yards and a pair of touchdowns last week -- and that game was in Washington. Now, they'll be traveling across the country to take on the Rams.

Washington was the seventh-worst defense in the league in 2016, according to our metrics, and we project Goff as this week's QB15, actually three spots ahead of the aforementioned Flacco and one spot in front of Palmer.

Look, I get it -- a nice showing against a depleted Colts' defense, a unit which may end up being one of the league's worst, doesn't mean Goff is good all of the sudden. It's why I have him ranked below both Palmer and Flacco this week.

But what Goff's dazzling debut does tell us is that he's capable of playing well in the right matchups, and maybe there's something to all the preseason noise about an improved Rams offense.

Palmer is the top streamer this week and the guy who offers the most upside of the three we've mentioned, but if he's not an option for you, it's a tough choice between Flacco and Goff.

Admittedly, Flacco feels safer, but both the Rams and Ravens have identical 24.25-point implied totals. The Ravens are massive 7.5-point favorites while the Rams favored by 2.5 points. If Baltimore gets a big lead -- like they did in Week 1, when they attempted a meager 17 passes -- Flacco may not be asked to do much. As scary as it is, everything points to us being able to place our trust in Goff once again.
