We Should Be Buying Rob Kelley

While the buzz around Hunt was palpable, his average draft position (ADP) never exceeded that of Ware; that's not the case with Samaje Perine and Rob Kelley.

In this case, Kelley -- the incumbent -- was going near the back end of the 10th round earlier this month while Perine was going in the seventh. That all changed in a hurry with what happened in Washington's preseason opener.

It ain't the butt fumble, but it still ain't pretty.

Perine also dropped a pass, and for a team that excommunicated Matt Jones for similar sins last year, this would seem to be a big indictment on Perine's short-term value.

This game is already having an effect on each guy's respective ADP, as you can see in this graph from Fantasy Football Calculator.

Kelley's cost is increasing, but he's still going at the end of the eighth round. For a guy who could wind up being the early-down back on an efficient offense, that's ridiculously cheap.

It's best to still tread lightly with Kelley as they didn't draft Perine for nothing, but Kelley's an obvious buy, regardless. He won't be an every-week starter due to his limited role in the passing game, but he'll be a option with touchdown upside in this type of offense.
