Whenever you bring up Tyrod Taylor on Twitter, you'll inevitably get the little birdie in your mentions chirping about how Taylor's not a "real" quarterback and the Buffalo Bills had to hide him the past two years. This would seem to contradict that notion.

If you want to mask any ineffectiveness in your quarterback, you likely won't want him slanging the pigskin deep down the field. Taylor did so more than all but three quarterbacks this year, and he did so 23.16% of the time in 2016. If it weren't for abundant injuries at wide receiver, Taylor may have wound up leading the league in this stat.

Obviously, Taylor's efficiency on these passes left something to be desired, ranking 18th in Passing NEP per attempt. But again, that's when playing without Sammy Watkins for eight games and Robert Woods for another three. Taylor's 0.54 Passing NEP per attempt last year was above average, and that was also an injury-tainted season for Watkins.

Taylor's future with the Bills is still in limbo, so it's possible he could hit the open market this winter. If he does, and he's able to link up with a team with solid deep-ball receivers, it could help remedy any lingering concerns about his outlook at the position.
