Rashad Jennings Appears to Be Fantasy Relevant Again

Rashad Jennings was one of the running backs who offseason zero-RB drafters were targeting in later rounds. Jennings got off to a slow start, but things are turning around.

His recent uptick in usage, beginning in Week 10, was solidified in Week 11, as he put up an impressive 21-carry, 85-yard, 1-touchdown effort on the ground. Jennings also got busy through the air, culminating in a 5-catch, 44-yard outing, his third straight game with at least 3 catches.

As Jennings' struggles mounted in the first half of the season, many assumed rookie Paul Perkins would eventually take control of the New York Giants' backfield, but the Giants' coaching staff emphatically disagreed on Sunday as Jennings out-touched Perkins 26 to 6.

Jennings hasn't been particularly efficient this year, generating a below-league average -0.06 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per rush. However, it's instructive to note that after Week 9, he stood at a far more paltry -0.16 Rushing NEP per rush, so Jennings has been very productive in his last two games. And now he's getting the workload his drafters had been hoping for all along.

In 2015, Jennings led the NFL with a 50.8% Rushing Success Rate, which is the percentage of rushes generating positive NEP. So it isn't that crazy to think that his recent success could be sustained. And the workload he's gotten over the last couple of weeks suggests he could be a big fantasy contributor the rest of the way.
