The Jacksonville Jaguars' backfield has been about as frustrating as being the cat that's doomed to chase the unobtainable laser pointer every Sunday. No, I mean it. Predicting which of the two primary running backs, Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon, would get more work from week to week has been absolutely impossible, making neither a comfortable starting asset.

And both Ivory and Yeldon have been insanely underwhelming as runners this season. Ivory's -0.19 Rushing NEP per rush ranks dead last among the 45 running backs with greater than 50 attempts this season. Yeldon's -0.14 Rushing NEP per rush ranks 42nd out of that same group, so not much better.

So why am I recommending the least efficient back in the league in Ivory as a primary waiver wire add? Opportunity, my friends.

Yeldon left the game against the Lions with an apparent ankle injury, leaving the backfield to Ivory all by himself. And while his 17-carry, 39-rushing yard effort still majorly underwhelmed, he did still manage to rack up 6 receptions for 75 yards in the Jaguars’ losing effort. Any back with the opportunity to get 17-plus touches in a game should be owned.

If Yeldon is forced to miss time, Ivory will likely shoulder the entire Jaguars' backfield load. And that kind of workload doesn't grow on waiver wire trees every week. Grab Ivory if you still can.
