Week 9 Fantasy Football Defensive Streaming: Backing the Bolts

Joey Bosa and the San Diego Chargers host the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. Which other low-owned defenses are in a good spot.

Last Thursday, the Tennessee Titans were up 27-0 at halftime, seemingly cruising to a high defensive finish as our top streaming option in Week 8.

But then Blake Bortles went and Blake Bortles'd everywhere. Our garbage-time hero threw for 273 yards and 3 touchdowns in the second half, sweeping the rug out from under those who streamed the Tennessee defense.

Such is life.

On the week, the Titans tied for the 11th-highest score among team defenses. Our other options, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets also posted mediocre results, finishing tied for the 9th and 11th, respectively.

Now that we're eight weeks into the season, if you streamed our top option each week, you would have rostered the seventh-highest scoring defense of the season in standard scoring leagues.

Week 9 is shaping up as a tough week to find streaming defenses, but let's look at three teams which are surely available in your leagues.

As always, we're combing through the waiver wire to identify low-owned defenses that have a great matchup. For this exercise, we're focusing on teams that are less than 50% owned on both ESPN and Yahoo. Our goal is to identify units poised to finish as a top-12 scorer this week.
