Alex Smith, QB, Kansas City Chiefs

Alex Smith burned a lot of people last week with a very underwhelming performance against a weak Oakland Raiders secondary. There were some serious weather issues in that game, though, and a lot of what made him an appealing play last week holds true again this week.

He's up against a New Orleans Saints defense that ranks 26th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play and has given up the 7th-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.

Smith attempted at least 33 passes in each of his first four games this season, and he averaged 42 passes per game in that span. He's never going to be an explosive fantasy quarterback, but he's in a great spot this week. The Kansas City Chiefs boast a 28.25 implied total -- the second-highest of the week -- in a good matchup against the Saints.
