Connor Barwin, Defensive End

You may have noticed that I’m repeating a few names this week. With the bye weeks coming, there are going to be a few players that you continually go back to for your streaming needs. Some -- like Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Connor Barwin -- are merely interesting matchup plays, depending on the opponent.

Barwin has picked up just one sack through three games so far, but he’s generated consistent pressure in good matchups. Against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, he had one sack and one quarterback hit, and he had two quarterback hits against the Chicago Bears.

Week 5 is another good matchup for him against a Detroit Lions offense that is passing the eighth-most by pass-to-run play call ration. With nearly a two-to-one ratio and little effectiveness in their ground game, there should be plenty of chances for the Eagles’ pass rushers to pin their ears back and blitz.

On top of that, Detroit ranks in the middle-of-the-pack in sack percentage allowed this year (6.0%; 15th). Barwin has a decent floor this week, though, too; if the Lions try to keep establishing the run, he could earn some big stuffs against their third-highest stuff percentage allowed (17.0%).

Barwin is available in 97.0% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 2.72 tackles, 0.38 sacks, and a total score of 4.72 fantasy points in Week 5.
