Running Back

Chalk:

Spencer Ware, $5,400 vs San Diego Chargers - Latavius Murray is likely to be a very popular play this weekend against the New Orleans Saints, but if Jamaal Charles does indeed sit, it will be hard to control the masses of people flocking to get Spencer Ware in their lineups against the San Diego Chargers' weak run defense. Due to the fact that he may be one of the most highly-owned players on the slate, Ware is definitely worth pivoting from if making multiple tournament lineups.

Pivots:

Ezekiel Elliot, $7,900 vs New York Giants - Rostering Ezekiel Elliott isn't necessarily a pivot from an overall ownership percentage standpoint, but it is a nice leverage play if fading Prescott. If Dallas gets up early and Zeke ends up scoring multiple touchdowns instead of Prescott, you're already at a huge advantage over all of the people who rostered the quarterback. New York ranked as a bottom-10 defense against the run according to our metrics last season and allowed Dallas to pile up 313 rushing yards (4.9 yards per attempt) and 1 score in two meetings.

Ryan Mathews, $6,100 vs Cleveland Browns - Ryan Mathews draws a dream matchup in Week 1 in a home game against the Cleveland Browns. The matchup is great -- Cleveland ranked as the fifth-worst run defense according to our metrics last season -- and with the Philadelphia Eagles listed as 3.5-point favorites, the game script favors Mathews as well. With Ware just below him in price and Murray just above him, Mathews may end up seeing low ownership though, especially with concerns about starting quarterback Carson Wentz's ability to lead an offense in his first NFL start.
