3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 2/24/17

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a hard player to fade, but you should certainly consider it tonight. Who else should you leave off your roster?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, SG, Milwaukee Bucks

FanDuel Price: $10,400

It's never easy to fade Giannis Antetokounmpo in daily fantasy, but going up against a rested Utah Jazz team in Utah is about as tough as it gets for a player in the NBA.

The Jazz have a defensive rating of 99.9 when playing at home this season, and that's pretty close to what the Milwaukee Bucks' implied total is tonight as they head into Salt Lake City.

In his first meeting with the Jazz this season, Antetokounmpo was only 2-for-10 from the floor and ended the game with just 9 points. He has never had much success against the Jazz and Gordon Hayward, so I don't expect it to change much tonight.

DeAndre Jordan, C, Los Angeles Clippers

FanDuel Price: $7,600

Coming off a tough loss last night to the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers and DeAndre Jordan have another tough battle this evening against the San Antonio Spurs.

It looks like Pau Gasol will probably be back tonight after getting the All-Star Break to rest, but even though Gasol's defense isn't the best, Jordan will still be seeing a good dose of Dewayne Dedmon as well.

The Spurs' frontcourt has held opposing centers to just 0.86 FanDuel points per minute this season, and on a back-to-back, it's going to be hard for Jordan to get close to the 40 FanDuel points he needs to reach value tonight.

Myles Turner, C, Indiana Pacers

FanDuel Price: $6,400

Another center with a grueling matchup tonight is young Myles Turner, who will have to square off against the Memphis Grizzlies and Marc Gasol on Friday.

The Grizzlies are the toughest matchup for opposing centers this season according to our defense-versus-position matchup chart. They are holding centers to just 0.83 FanDuel points per minute this year, and Gasol has been a big reason why.

Gasol is holding players he defends to just 45.4% shooting overall and 51.7% from inside six feet from the basket. This makes Turner a player you'll want to avoid this evening, even at home.
