5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 1/31/17

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Ty Lawson, PG, Sacramento Kings

FanDuel Price: $4,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 18.8
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.08

While Darren Collison has been hot shooting the ball over the past week, Ty Lawson has been leading the team in assists over the last three games. During that span, Lawson is averaging 8.3 points and 8.7 assists in 27.2 minutes. Lawson may be playing with extra motivation tonight against the Houston Rockets, who reached a buyout settlement with the point guard last year.

According to our tools, Lawson is trending as the fifth-hottest player at his position tonight -- he's played 21.24% above his season average in terms of fantasy points per night over his last five games.

Nick Young, SG, Los Angeles Lakers

FanDuel Price: $3,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.7
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.05

Nick Young's production could take a slight hit with the return of D'Angelo Russell, but he's been too hot to ignore. Over his past five games, Young has drained 3.2 three-pointers per game to go along with 14.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and a steal in 28.7 minutes of play.

Young owns the highest projected value among all shooting guards on Tuesday's slate. The Los Angeles Lakers host the Denver Nuggets in a game with an over/under of 226 points, the highest total of the night.

Evan Turner, SF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $4,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 22.8
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.75

Evan Turner is adjusting well as a regular starter, as he's seen a huge boost in playing time with an average of 34.5 minutes over his last four games. As a result, Turner has been producing consistently in multiple categories, most notably in the scoring column with 12.3 points during that span.

Turner is projected to net the eighth-most FanDuel points among all small forwards, so he is worth considering as a value play.

Frank Kaminsky, PF, Charlotte Hornets

FanDuel Price: $3,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 17.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.59

Frank Kaminsky has cooled down recently -- he's failed to score double digits in his last four games, but continues to get shots up with an average of 4.3 three-point attempts during that time. Earlier this month in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Kaminsky made 3-of-6 from beyond the arc and recorded 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Kaminsky is tied with teammate Marvin Williams as having the best defense-versus-position rank among all power forwards on tonight's slate.

Ivica Zubac, C, Los Angeles Lakers

FanDuel Price: $3,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 24.4
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.25

After producing mixed results because of sporadic opportunities, Ivica Zubac is finally seeing stability on the Lakers roster with back-to-back games logging 26-plus minutes. Zubac has played a total of three games in which he's logged 20-plus minutes, putting up an impressive average of 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Zubac owns the second-highest projected value among all centers on Tuesday's slate. If he is able to see time on the court, Zubac is a prime candidate to return value in what is projected to be a high-scoring matchup against the Nuggets.
