3 NBA DraftKings Studs to Target on 1/9/19

If you used Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid last night, you probably would have been disappointed in his fantasy performance. The superstar racked up another double-double, but he scored just 41.5 DraftKings points in a game the Sixers had in the bag by halftime.

A nearly identical scenario played out the first time the teams met this season. Embiid had a double-double and played just 22 minutes in a rout of the Wizards on November 30.

The thing is, these were rather predictable outcomes as both games were in Philly, and the Wizards are a pathetic 5-17 and lose by an average of 9.8 points in away games this year.

Tonight's game, however, is being played at Capital One Arena, and the Wizards are only 3.5-point underdogs. As such, we can reasonably expect Embiid to see a huge jump in playing time compared to the 23.0 minutes he's averaged in the first two contests against Washington. This is important, obviously, as he's averaging a somewhat crazy 1.83 DraftKings points per minute against them this year.

We have Embiid currently projected for 51.5 DraftKings points this evening. If the Wizards can keep it even remotely close, then he could blow past that projection with ease.
