Kyle Lowry, PG, Toronto Raptors

DraftKings Salary: $7,700

While there are other top-end options worth looking at on this slate, you only have so much salary to work with, so let's examine potentially the strongest mid-range stud in Kyle Lowry. At this price tag, Lowry needs 38.5 DraftKings points to hit 5 points per every $1,000 in salary, a mark he has reached in three of his past four games. He is averaging 39.4 in seven games over the past two weeks, and he should have no problem reaching value in a head-to-head matchup versus Dennis Schroder.

With Isaiah Thomas sidelined this year, you can make a real case for Schroder being the worst individual defender in the league, and he has had no answer for Lowry in the past. Lowry averaged 41 DraftKings points against the Atlanta Hawks last season, and he put up 43.75 in their first meeting this year. That performance came in just 27 minutes of playing time, so you can only imagine the type of game Lowry is capable of if Atlanta keeps this competitive.

A blowout could certainly be an issue here, as the Toronto Raptors are 10.5-point home favorites. The plus side of that projection is that their 113.25-point implied total leads the slate by a decent margin. Lowry is a bit of a risky cash-game play due to the potential blowout, but his upside is immense in this spot. Depending on how risk-averse you are, he is worth a look in either format.
