Al-Farouq Aminu, PF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $4,800

Al-Farouq Aminu has stepped into a larger role for the Portland Trail Blazers following the injury to Jusuf Nurkic, playing 44.1% of his minutes at center in three games, according to nbawowy.com. Portland's most frequently-used lineup in their last game featured Aminu at center, despite a matchup against a physical Utah Jazz frontcourt.

It's important to note the change in position, because not only is Aminu seeing more minutes and rebounding opportunities, but the Minnesota Timberwolves (tonight's opponent) have defended the power forward position much better than center. They have allowed the 11th-most FanDuel points to opposing centers, but the fourth-fewest to power forwards. Those numbers shouldn't be overly surprising, as Gorgui Dieng has proven to be a more capable defender than Karl-Anthony Towns at this point in their respective careers. Towns ranks dead last among 69 qualified centers in defensive real plus-minus this season.

The Blazers and Wolves squared off just three days ago, a game in which Aminu played 35 minutes and scored 41.9 FanDuel points. Perhaps more importantly, he registered 62% of his minutes at center, so head coach Terry Stotts is clearly comfortable with him matching up with Towns.

In addition to an expanded role and a favorable individual matchup against Towns, Aminu should benefit from the game script. The Blazers have the second-highest implied team total on the slate (112 points), which is a three-point improvement over their season scoring average. The over/under in this one (218 points) is the second-highest on the slate.

All things considered, Aminu is in a great spot and is quite affordable. If he can repeat his last performance against the Wolves, he will be one of the night's best value plays and is a viable play in all formats.
