Mets' Steven Matz to have left forearm examined
New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz will have his left forearm examined on Wednesday or Thursday.
Matz experienced tightness in his left forearm during Tuesday's horrific start on the road against the Washington Nationals, in which he failed to make it through the bottom of the first inning after allowing 7 earned runs on 8 hits with a walk in what wound up being the worst loss in Mets' history, a 25-4 embarrassment. The club should provide an update after Matz is examined.
Matz is averaging 25.0 FanDuel points through 21 starts this season while posting a 4.35 ERA with 99 strikeouts across 107 2/3 innings.
