Padres' Dinelson Lamet out until May with pain in throwing elbow
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Dinelson Lamet will be sidelined until May due to pain in his throwing elbow, according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune.
The good news is the Padres don't think there is anything structurally wrong with the elbow, but Lamet will be sidelined at least for the first month of the season. Lamet was scheduled to pitch the second game of the year, but the Padres will have to figure out other plans to start the season.
Our models are now projecting Lamet for a 4.10 ERA and 1.33 WHIP, with 140 strikeouts over 127.4 innings pitched in 2018.
