Dodgers planning on Alex Wood (shoulder) starting on Saturday
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Alex Wood (shoulder) will return Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds.
Wood last pitched on May 26 but has sat out two-plus weeks with inflammation of the SC joint in his left pitching shoulder. He feels much better, and after examination by team doctors is ready to return to the Dodgers' rotation. The southpaw was dominating the big leagues with four consecutive scoreless starts (23 2/3 innings pitched) before the injury sidelined him. Kenta Maeda will move to the bullpen to make room for Wood.
numberFire's algorithms project Wood for a big night against the Reds on Saturday with 6.1 strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings pitched for 37.8 FanDuel points.
