Brewers call up prospect Brett Phillips from Triple-A
The Milwaukee Brewers recalled outfielder Brett Phillips from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
What It Means:
Phillips is taking the roster spot of Travis Shaw, who was placed on the paternity list on Monday. The 23-year-old Phillips will provide roster depth this week as he experiences his first taste of the big leagues. He is likely to be sent back down when Shaw is ready to return.
Phillips was crushing the Pacific Coast League this year, slashing .297/.369/.589 with a .407 wOBA in 198 plate appearances. He also had 11 home runs, 41 RBI's, and 35 runs scored.
