Dodgers' Alex Wood (clavicle) not progressing as expected

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood (clavicle) is being flown back to Los Angeles to be examined by team doctors.

What It Means:

Wood landed on the 10-day disabled list with an injury to his SC joint, and while he was initially expected to only miss one start, he is not healing the way the team expected, and his absence may be extended.

The 26-year-old left-hander has been excellent in 2017, posting a 1.69 ERA, 2.51 SIERA, 31.3 percent strikeout rate and 1.00 WHIP through 10 games (48 innings pitched).
