Reds' Anthony DeSclafani (elbow) has setback, will get MRI

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani will undergo an MRI after feeling renewed soreness in his right elbow following his last bullpen session.

What It Means:

DeSclafani had been slated to make his Cactus League debut Monday after first experiencing elbow soreness two weeks ago, but obviously that won't happen. He's going to start the season on the disabled list no matter what the MRI says, and obviously the right-hander could potentially be on the shelf for a while. The Reds aren't in position to win this season with or without DeSclafani, but he had been in line to serve as their Opening Day starter.

In 123 1/3 innings pitched last year, DeSclafani had a 4.07 SIERA, 20.7 percent strikeout rate, and 5.9 percent walk rate.
