Pirates' Tyler Glasnow headed to disabled list
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder injury.
Glasnow was pulled from his start on Saturday after experiencing soreness in his shoulder. It's unclear whether there is any structural damage and what kind of timetable the young righty could be looking at. Chad Kuhl was one inning into a start in Triple-A Indianapolis Saturday before leaving with biceps discomfort, so it is unclear what the Pirates will do with the rotation as of now.
In two major league starts Glasnow has pitched 8 2/3 innings and is posting a 5.40 ERA and 18.00 percent strikeout rate. In Triple-A Glasnow owns a 1.94 ERA and a 30.40 strikeout rate over 112 innings this season.
