Rangers interested in Reds' Anthony DeSclafani

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani is "among the rotation names the Texas Rangers are considering," according to FOX Sports' Jon Morosi.

What It Means:

DeSclafani is locked up with the Reds until 2020 on a team friendly deal, so there are some questions here regarding the Reds' willingness to listen to offers for the young righty. However, he has pitched well since coming off the disabled list, so it's not surprising teams are calling Cincinnati to gauge his availability.

DeSclafani has started eight game this season and is posting a 2.50 ERA over 50 1/3 innings. Despite the low ERA, DeSclafani owns a concerning 4.07 xFIP and his 19.61 strikeout percentage is below the league average (21.00 percent). We project him to record a 4.84 ERA and a 17.90 strikeout percentage over the remaining course of the season.
