FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Monday 9/3/18

With limited options on the mound this afternoon, Max Scherzer is in a tier of his own on Monday's early slate. Who else should we consider rostering this afternoon?

Happy Labor Day! With Monday's baseball festivities beginning this afternoon, we'll be focusing on the seven-game early slate at 1:05pm ET. As is often the case, Max Scherzer stands out from the crowd at pitcher, while familiar offenses in the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox lead the way on the hitting side.

Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered!

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitcher

Max Scherzer ($11,500 on FanDuel): Max Scherzer is coming off an underwhelming outing against the Philadelphia Phillies, but that's just a small bump in what has otherwise been yet another masterful season. He owns the best marks on the board, with a 2.75 SIERA, 34.3% strikeout rate and 6.2% walk rate, and while the St. Louis Cardinals are more of a neutral matchup, they draw the slate's lowest implied team total (3.28). With fairly limited alternatives on the mound, Scherzer is far and away the afternoon's top option, and there's little reason to stray from him in cash games.
