Robinson Cano, 2B, Seattle Mariners

FanDuel Price: $4,100

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Matt Carpenter is in a favorable matchup today, and the Cards have the second-highest implied team total on the slate, so he will likely hog the ownership at second base. Robinson Cano and the Mariners have a more modest implied team total of 4.3 against Chris Tillman, who is a fairly well respected starting pitcher. He isn't likely to be an overly popular option tonight.

Why You Should Use Him:

Cano will look to continue his stellar play this season in tonight's lefty-righty matchup against Tillman, who has looked a lot more mortal recently after an unsustainably strong start to the season.

Tillman has now given up 10 runs in his last 10 innings, which has his season ERA up to a 3.52 mark that is getting closer and closer to his more indicative 4.13 SIERA. Over his last six starts, Tillman has a 5.00 ERA and has given up 10 homers.

That bodes well for Cano, the American League's all-time home run leader among second basemen. Cano has absolutely crushed right-handed pitching in his career, which is evidenced by the fact that 72 percent of his career homers have come against righties.

Carpenter is a decent option tonight, but Cano is an excellent fall-back option if you don't have the salary for Carp. Cano is the preferable option in tournaments, where he'll have lower ownership.
