The Seattle Mariners go up against Mike Pelfrey today, a guy who struggles against lefties and allows a ton of base runners with his low strikeout rate and high walk rate. That means we're going to want to load up on their middle-of-the-order bats, including the high-upside Adam Lind.

Lind has kept up his big-bopping ways during his first year in Seattle by posting a 41.3% hard-hit rate and 38.0% fly-ball rate against right-handed pitching. The one area in which Lind hasn't held steady is his strikeout rate, but even that is still around the league average at 20.4%. His slash doesn't quite reflect it, but this dude is still a legit hitter.

The other factor making this game interesting is the weather. The winds are currently projected to be blowing out at 18 miles per hour with a toasty temperature of 88 degrees. Both of those are highly conducive to big-time offense, especially for dudes who loft the ball. Lind does exactly that, and he'll fit in well with any Mariners stacks against Pelfrey.
