J.D. Martinez, OF, Boston Red Sox

Price: $4,000

On the other side of that game, the Red Sox are also the best offense to target on the slate, boasting a 4.89 implied total (the next-highest mark is 4.63) against White Sox righty Lucas Giolito.

Giolito, to his credit, looks to be making strides. He was awful and worth picking on constantly in daily fantasy last year, with a 5.37 SIERA, 16.1% strikeout rate and 11.6% walk rate. He's improved that SIERA to 4.14, and his strikeout rate is up to 28.8% with a 12.4% swinging-strike rate over four starts in 2019.

That's a really small sample, though, and still comes with a huge 12.5% walk rate. A 4.14 SIERA still isn't the kind of mark that's going to scare you away from a matchup.

J.D. Martinez has clobbered right-handed pitchers for a .410 wOBA and .272 ISO on a 45.3% hard-hit rate in 602 plate appearances since joining the Red Sox. He's had a quiet start to 2019, with a .364 wOBA, but his 44.1% hard-hit rate and 9.7% soft-hit rate are both in line with the terrific contact he was making in 2018. Despite his contact remaining elite, his home run-to-fly-ball rate has fallen to 10.3%. The last two seasons saw him sport marks of 33.8% and 29.5%, and even his career average (20.6%) is double this year's clip.

His average exit velocity hasn't fallen off at all, and his average batted-ball distance (197 feet) sits between his marks from 2018 (210) and 2018 (184). We can expect big power numbers from Martinez moving forward, which makes it really easy to like getting him at $4,000 in a plus matchup.
