Juan Soto, OF, Washington Nationals

FanDuel Price: $4,000

The Washington Nationals are showing one of the highest implied totals on the board (4.90), so they figure to be a popular stack against left-hander Jason Vargas.

But people tend to shy away from lefty-lefty matchups, so Bryce Harper or Juan Soto could be less popular despite the great matchup. And even though Vargas is a southpaw, dating back to last season, he hasn't actually been so hot against lefty bats, posting a 5.17 FIP and 5.42 xFIP over 51 innings in the split. While that's not a large sample size, it's not like Vargas has been particularly good overall, posting a 4.86 SIERA in 2017 and a 4.48 SIERA this year.

As for Soto, he hasn't missed a beat against lefties in his impressive rookie campaign, producing a .391 wOBA, .353 xwOBA, and .232 ISO in the split. We're once again dealing with a small sample size, and a 63.4% ground-ball rate in the split isn't ideal, but he at least demonstrates he can hang in lefty-lefty matchups. And considering his impressive overall marks, we'll also happily have him on our side against the righties in the New York Mets' bullpen after Vargas is pulled.
