The Indians will be the team that draws all the attention in Cleveland tonight, but we shouldn't overlook their opponent, the Minnesota Twins, who have a pretty good matchup of their own.
Through 53 innings, Adam Plutko only has a 5.09 ERA to show for his efforts, which falls in line with his 5.05 SIERA and 17.8% strikeout rate. We're admittedly looking at a small sample size, but Plutko has been getting absolutely obliterated by left-handed hitters, allowing a 40.2% hard-hit rate and 49.4% fly-ball rate, and leading to an 8.74 FIP and .407 xwOBA.
That makes the Twins' lefty bats especially enticing, including Eddie Rosario, who has posted a solid 38.3% hard-hit rate and 45.8% fly-ball rate versus right-handed pitching. Dating back to the start of 2017, he's now put up a .368 wOBA and .244 ISO in the platoon split.
