The Arizona Diamondbacks draw what might be the best matchup on today's slate as they take on Texas Rangers southpaw Martin Perez.

Perez' 5.34 SIERA is the worst among today's starting pitchers by a big margin, with nobody else eclipsing the 5.00 mark. His 3.1% strikeout-minus-walk rate is also the worst among today's starters, and the 44.7% hard-hit rate he is allowing is the second-highest in the group.

Paul Goldschmidt is a huge threat to take advantage of this matchup, as he has been up to his usual lefty-crushing ways this year. In the split, he has a huge 51.2% hard-hit rate to go with a 38.1% fly-ball rate, which has translated to a .439 wOBA and .316 isolated slugging (ISO). He's no stranger to that kind of success, either, as he has topped a .400 wOBA against lefties in all but his first season in the Majors.
