Hunter Renfroe, OF, San Diego Padres

Sean Newcomb is a tough matchup for the San Diego Padres, but Newcomb hasn't actually been all that dominant of late, posting just a 19.1% strikeout rate and 13.0% walk rate over his last five starts.

Should Newcomb continue to have control issues, he could work his way into trouble against a team that actually has a little pop against lefties, including the inexpensive Hunter Renfroe. Renfroe is quietly putting together some nice numbers over 78 plate appearances, producing a 50.0% hard-hit rate, .361 wOBA, and .261 ISO. But where he really shines is versus southpaws, against whom he holds a massive career .424 wOBA and .353 ISO.

While a full Padres stack is probably unwise in this matchup, don't hesitate to roster Renfroe as a high-upside punt to fill out a tournament lineup.
