Even though he doesn't offer much in the way of power, Joe Mauer is producing well this season, with a .352 wOBA over 35 games. This comes on the heels of a .349 wOBA in 2017, indicating that the increase in production is no fluke.

He has made especially strong contact against right-handed pitching over those two seasons, with a 40.5% hard-hit and 12.5% soft-hit rate, positioning him well against tonight's starter, Cardinals; right-hander Jack Flaherty.

Flaherty has only played in eight Major League games, but he hasn't looked especially good in that sample. He has a 4.44 SIERA, allowing a big 42.6% hard-hit rate and 5.12 xFIP to left-handed hitters.
