Fantasy Baseball: 5 Pitchers to Stream This Weekend

Trevor Cahill just gave up four earned in five innings in what seemed like an excellent matchup against the woeful Phillies offense, a disappointing turn that might have streamers off of Cahill's scent heading into the second half. Shrewd standard-leaguers should be pouncing, though -- let us not forget that the San Diego Padres righty was starting to look like a must-own pitcher before he was sidelined with a shoulder injury in mid-May.

Indeed, Cahill, like Morton, has been in the midst of a strikeout renaissance before his injury, and to be fair, he did punch out eight Phillies in that most recent, sub-par start. And also like Morton, Cahill has made his hay with a dynamite curveball, limiting hitters to -21 wRC+ on the pitch while coaxing a 51% strikeout-minus-walk rate.

You hardly need to get involved in the nitty-gritty of pitch value analysis to know that the Giants have been a prime streamer target all season, with a bottom-three weighted run production total and a team isolated slugging (ISO) mark that scrapes the bottom of the barrel. Granted, San Fransisco isn't the most strikeout-prone of squads, so we might not see especially gaudy strikeout totals from Cahill, but then again, the Giants have been virtually useless against the curve, which should play into his hand quite nicely.
