Padres place Trevor Cahill (shoulder) on 10-day DL
The San Diego Padres placed pitcher Trevor Cahill on the 10-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain.
There is no current timetable for his return, but one should clarify as Cahill progresses in his rehab. With the right-hander hitting the disabled list, Jarred Cosart is a probable candidate to start in his place against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.
Cahill had been pitching well this season prior to going down injured, with a 3.27 ERA, 29.5 percent strikeout rate, and 9.8 percent walk rate in 41 1/3 innings.
