Nick Pivetta, SP, Philadelphia Phillies

FanDuel Price: $7,300

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

With nearly a full main slate, there are some monster pitching options on the board. Max Scherzer takes the bump looking to keep up his dominance, and Jacob deGrom and Carlos Martinez square off in St. Louis. All three should be heavily owned.

With a 4.85 ERA over 52.0 innings pitched, rookie Nick Pivetta of the Philadelphia Phillies is likely to be a low-owned option.

Why You Should Use Him:

While it's been a bit of a bumpy ride in his rookie campaign, Pivetta has shown flashes of goodness that can't be discounted.

Ignoring a poor start at the Arizona Diamondbacks two outings ago, Pivetta's posted some healthy swinging-strike marks, including rates of 10.4% and 14.1% in his last two outings, excluding the Arizona tilt.

In the majors, Pivetta's whiffed 23.5% of hitters, and that excludes a 30.1% strikeout rate in Triple-A this year. As an added benefit, he'll face a San Diego Padres squad that leads the majors in strikeout rate at 25.9%.

Peep Pivetta as a salary-saving option at the pitcher spot.
