3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/29/17
Christian Yelich, OF, Miami Marlins
FanDuel Price: $3,400
Although the Miami Marlins have an appealing 5.04 implied team total against Seth Lugo, it's not as appealing to use Christian Yelich tonight.
Yelich was often a useful DFS play last year, but he hasn't shown nearly the same power in 2017. He has just seven bombs, and his .119 isolated power (ISO) is a big drop-off from last year's .185. While more and more players are hitting fly balls across the league, he continues to hit a ton of ground balls (59.0% rate), limiting the likelihood he'll improve his power stroke.
At a cheaper salary, Yelich still has some merit due to his 36.0% hard-hit rate and solid plate discipline. However, when you can find more upside in Mookie Betts or the hot-hitting Curtis Granderson in the same price range, it's tough to support Yelich.
