4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/27/17

Despite his plummeting price and a solid matchup, Gregory Polanco isn't showing signs of busting out of his season long slump, and we should continue avoiding him in MLB DFS.

Much like Chris Sale last night, Max Scherzer ($12,000) has pretty much reached must-start status in DFS. He won't come cheap, but it will be hard to talk yourself out of a 2.74 SIERA and 35.3% strikeout rate against the Chicago Cubs. In fact, don't talk yourself out of it -- just play him.

If you want some high upside alternatives for tournaments, Carlos Martinez ($9,700) fits the bill with a 30.4% strikeout rate across four starts in June. Sean Manaea ($8,200) has a wicked 14.7% swinging-strike rate this season, giving him some appeal tonight despite a scary matchup against the Houston Astros. Meanwhile, Luis Severino ($9,200) has hit at least 49 FanDuel points seven times in 14 starts.

If you're looking for some sneaky value plays, Sean Newcomb ($7,700) gets the whiff-generous San Diego Padres, and Jeff Hoffman ($7,400) has a 32.9% strikeout rate in three starts away from Coors Field.

We have all 30 teams on tap tonight, which gives us a dizzying array of possibilities. Let's go through four players who you might want to leave off your lineups.
