Clayton Kershaw, P, Los Angeles Dodgers

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Clayton Kershaw is the top arm on the slate.

His numbers in 2017 don't quite match what he has been posting over the past few seasons, but his 3.08 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), 26.1% strikeout rate, and 3.4% walk rate are still excellent marks -- while the 26.6% soft-hit rate he has forced is a career high.

He's also coming off of three straight seasons with a strikeout rate of at least 30%, and he has a matchup with a St. Louis Cardinals team that has whiffed against southpaws at a top-10 rate while also ranking only 23rd with an 84 wRC+.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are huge -250 favorites in this one, and the Cardinals' 2.76 implied total is the lowest on the slate by a big margin. You're not going to find a safer pitching option than Kershaw on this slate, and he offers big-time strikeout upside, as well.
