Matt Kemp is off to a great start, sporting a 47.2% hard-hit rate and .443 wOBA on the young season.

However, Lance Lynn provides a tough matchup for him. Lynn has a 20.8% strikeout rate, but that number rises to 28.6% against righties, which is no sample-size fluke (26.7% career rate). He's also held them to a 27.9% career hard-hit rate.

Due to the plethora of pricey hitting options in good spots, value will be at a premium, making Kemp not worth his lofty price in an undesirable matchup.
