3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 12/6/16

John Wall's price and status on the back-to-back makes him a player to avoid on Tuesday.

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about some guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

John Wall, PG, Washington Wizards

FanDuel Price: $9,500

With only six games on the slate, even the moderately popular players will be higher owned. John Wall is the only really high-priced point guard, and coming off a back-to-back makes him very suspect.

With the Orlando Magic playing better defense and playing solid against point guards, it might be wise to lay off Wall, even though he's at home. He needs about 45 to 50 FanDuel points to reach value, and if he is 40- or 50-percent owned, he is starting to reach fade territory.

The Magic are holding opposing point guards to 0.9 FanDuel points per minute, so Wall would need 35 minutes and average at least 1.3 FanDuel points per minute to reach value.

Andrew Wiggins, SF, Minnesota Timberwolves

FanDuel Price: $5,900

Stopping Karl-Anthony Towns is likely going to be a team effort for the San Antonio Spurs, but slowing down Andrew Wiggins is going to fall exclusively on Kawhi Leonard. The two-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year hasn't been as good on defense yet, but he has owned Wiggins in head-to-head matchups.

In six career meetings, Wiggins is shooting only 35.6% from the floor and 14.3% from deep against Leonard. He did have a nice game against "The Claw" late last season, but it's a tough matchup overall, even with the Spurs coming off a back-to-back.

Opposing small forwards are scoring just 0.73 FanDuel points per minute against the Spurs. With Wiggins playing better lately, DFS players might forget about his tough matchup and chase points, which is almost certainly a bad idea.

Manu Ginobli, SG, San Antonio Spurs

FanDuel Price: $4,100

It might make sense for the Spurs to limit or simply rest Manu Ginobili tonight. San Antonio hasn't announced anything as of this writing with regard to resting players, but entering the second game of a back-to-back is cause for concern.

This was already going to be a tough matchup for the shooting guard, as the Minnesota Timberwolves are limiting the position to 0.67 FanDuel points per minute. After playing 21 minutes on Monday and another challenging game ahead on Thursday against the Chicago Bulls, it's tough to see how he'll be productive.

According to numberFire's projections, there are a number of other similarly priced options that can provide higher value.
