FanDuel Premier League Matches to Target in Matchweek 30

Chelsea and Alvaro Morata are stumbling in their top-four chase, but a matchup with Crystal Palace could be just what's needed to get the Blues back on track.

Fixtures for Matchweek 30 in the Premier League are spread out over three days with likely champion Manchester City playing at Stoke on Monday, five days after their last Champions League game. FanDuel will feature six of Saturday's matches on their main slate.

Matchweek 30
Saturday, March 10th
Southampton at Newcastle
Brighton at Everton
Swansea at Huddersfield
Leicester at West Brom
Burnley at West Ham
Crystal Palace at Chelsea

With only three points separating 13th from 19th, the relegation battle takes center stage on this slate. Eight of the bottom nine teams are a part of this slate with two of the matches setting up as six-pointers.

Only two games on the slate have an over/under of more than two goals, and those are the matches to target.

West Brom vs. Leicester

West Brom have eight games remaining, with three coming against teams in the top five of the table. In many ways, this is a do-or-die contest for the Baggies as they sit eight points from safety.

Both teams have scored in this fixture in four of the last five league meeting between the two, including a 1-1 draw in the fall. In that one, Leicester got a late equalizer from Riyad Mahrez after Nacer Chadli scored for West Brom. Chadli is likely out of this matchup, but Mahrez has resumed his place in Leicester's starting lineup, netting another late equalizer -- this one from a free kick -- last week against Bournemouth.

Leicester could see some changes from last week's draw with Bournemouth. Daniel Amartey and Shinji Okazaki are nursing injuries, but the Foxes will still be led by Mahrez and Jamie Vardy.

Mahrez and Vardy are among the most expensive players on the slate, so consider using Wilfred Ndidi at $8,500. He is averaging a touch more than 20 FanDuel points in his last two games with a total of 19 defensive actions in that span.

West Brom is likely to roll out the same lineup from last week's 1-0 defeat. Overall, they will be cheaper than the Leicester players. However, the Foxes allow basically the same number of shots per game -- just over 13 -- as West Brom. They also give up a shade more than 15 shots per match on the road. Leicester have also allowed just one less goal on the season than West Brom.

Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon are expected to be the attacking duo up front for West Brom. Rodriguez is just $7,500 with Rondon $500 more expensive. Chris Brunt is the points-per-game leader on the offensive side of things for West Brom as he likes to send in crosses from the left flank. He is also $7,500.

West Brom have no more time to waste -- their Premier League life is on the line. Leicester may be more comfortable in the league, but they are without a win in their last five matches. Both teams want the points, so it should be a gritty showdown at The Hawthorns.

Chelsea vs. Crystal Palace

This is the last game of the day on Saturday, and it also features a team looking for safety versus another limping toward the end of the season. Both teams have lost four of their last six games in the Premier League. Both teams are also dealing with injuries that may require making a tweak to the starting XI.

Palace have won each of the last two league meetings between these two, and both games ended 2-1. At least three goals have been scored in four of the last five league games between these London clubs.

With all the injuries, it will be wise to check the team news about an hour before kickoff with FanDuel allowing for late swaps. Palace should start with Christian Benteke and Alexander Sorloth up top. Both are among the value picks at forward this week, and Benteke is coming off his second-best fantasy performance of the season in his last outing.

Defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been impressive in his two matches with Palace. He has totaled 48 FanDuel points in outings against Tottenham and Manchester United. If Palace continue to play a back three, he will be pushed up to a more advanced wing-back role on the right side.

While Palace offers value, Chelsea offers high-priced players who have under-performed. Chelsea need their stars -- Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata, the two highest-priced players on the slate -- to show why they are stars. They will face a Palace team that could be without as many as 10 players. There is no time like the present to regain form for the Blues, who have an all-important Champions League clash at Barcelona coming up next Wednesday.

Willian, who has scored four goals in his last four games, should join Hazard and Morata in the front attacking three. His form will draw attention, but with his cost up to $10,000, some may look the other way. However, he has been involved in 16 goals in 17 starts, making the Brazilian very appealing despite his inflated salary.

Cesc Fabregas played a great game the last time these teams met. He led Chelsea in touches and added an assist on the lone Chelsea goal. Fabregas also led the team in shots.
