Clean Sheets and Score Sheets

The history of the games on the slate is interesting. There has been a trend of shutouts in some of these matchups, and it could also give an idea of where the goals will come from during matchweek 29.

Manchester City have shut out Bournemouth in three of their last five league games against each other. Manchester City have also scored at least three goals in three of those five matches. City are the major favorite in this contest.

The same can be said for Manchester United and Wolves. There is a history of clean sheets for United against Southampton. Wolves are the only favorite that do not have a history of shutouts against this week's opponent. Dating back to their time in the Championship, three of the last five matches between Cardiff and Wolverhampton have ended 2-1.

The other matchups are not as clear cut by odds and also do not have a history of being high-scoring fixtures. Crystal Palace and Burnley have split their last four matchups, with each one being a clean sheet for whoever came out on top.

While it is a different season and there are many other factors in play, the history of Saturday's matches tells us we shouldn't be surprised by clean sheets and moderate scoring.
