The Pressure Is On

Manchester City and Liverpool are both still involved in the Champions League. Liverpool is up by one point in the league with City having the advantage in goal differential. With Tottenham's recent form, it looks like the league will be a two-horse race.

The question becomes are both teams prioritizing a league title over the Champions League. Both sides have the advantage going into the second leg of their round of 16 match against German sides. Liverpool should be heavy favorites in their next three matches in the league. The same can be said for Manchester City in their next five EPL matches. Regardless, the pressure is on both teams as the chance for a double is still alive.

The pressure is also mounting at the bottom of the table. Fulham and Huddersfield are likely headed to relegation. Cardiff City is in the relegation zone after Wednesday's matches, but Southampton, Brighton, Burnley, and Crystal Palace are all within five points of 18th place. These teams will face one another over the coming weeks, with Palace and Burnley having the six-pointer this matchweek.

The six-pointer fixtures cause the most pressure, so they could come with passive play early, and they may not be the best games to target in DFS for that reason. Time will tell how these teams handle the pressure, and it should be a factor when you're building lineups moving forward.
