There Is Something Peculiar About Goal Conversion Rate

With many of the top teams not in action, that means that team goal conversion rate is low. The "big six" all sit in the top 10 in goal conversion, showing that the statistic has merit.

However, Glenn Murray ($8,500) is at the top of individual goal conversion. He is ahead of Liverpool's Roberto Firmino ($12,000), Leicester's Jamie Vardy ($11,000), and Watford's Andre Gray ($8,000), among others. According to Fantasy Football Scout's goal threat calculations, Murray has scored 5 goals on 13 attempts, and he has scored half of Brighton's goals.

Liverpool's top goal conversion player is Daniel Sturridge ($8,000), who has two goals in eight attempts. He and Murray are not getting close to the number of chances as many of the big-name forwards.

Does that mean they should not be played if given a start? Are they better as role players or have they shown enough? Murray is likely out this weekend, but he and Sturridge may be among the lesser used strikers who are developing a trend of making the most of their opportunity.
