Premier League Betting Guide for Matchweek 10

Arsenal have reeled off seven consecutive victories in Premier League play. Should we expect another win for them this weekend?

Matchweek 10 is still early on in the season, but there is currently only a two-point gap between first place and fifth place. This should result in several compelling matchups as the top-five teams are all still holding on to their title hopes.

Using Paddy Power as the source for lines, let's take a look at some bets you should zero in on this week.

Please note that lines are subject to change after this article is published, which impacts betting advice. All betting lines were taken from Paddy Power, and you cancheck here to see their most updated numbers.

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Arsenal to Win - (4/5)

The Gunners have been on quite the roll in league play as they have now won seven consecutive EPL matches after their win against Leicester on Monday. Three of these seven victories have been away from home, and although they have not faced difficult competition on the road during this streak (all three victories came against teams currently in the bottom four), it is not as if Crystal Palace, this week's foe, is a juggernaut at 2W-1D-6L.

Surprisingly, Crystal Palace have actually been better away from home (2-0-3) than they have been at their home ground (0-1-3). Opposing teams have had little trouble coming away with points at Selhurst Park, and given Arsenal’s strong form, one would expect them to earn a win against Palace this weekend.

Watford vs Huddersfield

Watford to Win - (8/11)

Huddersfield are perhaps the worst team in the EPL this year as they sit 19th in the table with a 0-3-6 record and -14 goal difference. They rank last in the league in WhoScored.com’s team ratings, goals scored and shots on target.

On the other side, Watford are 5-1-3, which is good enough for seventh place in the EPL table. They rank 8th in WhoScored.com’s team rating, 10th in shots on target and 4th in shots conceded, so their fast start does not appear to be a fluke. Watford are legitimately a top-half quality team, and anything less than a win at home against lowly Huddersfield would be a major disappointment.

Southampton vs Newcastle

Southampton to Win - (Evens)

While Southampton and Newcastle have both been dreadful this season, the Saints hold the edge in almost every major statistical category.

Southampton rank ahead of Newcastle in wins, points, shots per game, shots on target per game, shots conceded per game, possession and pass accuracy. They also rank higher in WhoScored.com’s team ratings.

Southampton have clearly played better than Newcastle so far this season, and they should be able to earn three points on their home ground.
