Defender – Seamus Coleman, Everton

Salary: $6,500

Coleman is tied with eight other players as the fourth-highest priced defender for Matchweek 4, and he has averaged 13.93 FanDuel points -- the second lowest-average among players listed at $6,500 or above.

Coleman has sent in six crosses this season while creating only one chance and totaling one shot on target. The Terriers have a 55.6% chance of scoring at least one goal, and they will likely struggle to put pressure on the Blues’ back line, which limits Coleman’s floor with defensive actions. The Terriers have allowed the eighth-fewest clearances (4.36), seventh-fewest interceptions (1.09), fifth-fewest blocked shots (0.36) and third-fewest tackles (1.27) per 90 minutes to defenders this season.

Although the five-point clean sheet bonus is nice, there a defenders from three clubs that are projected to receive that bonus, including some priced below Coleman. Coleman has the appeal of being involved in the Toffees’ attack, but at his price point DFS players should spend up for Marcos Alonso or Benjamin Mendy -- who should both be more involved in their squad's attack -- if they want a presence in the attack. And they should look elsewhere if they are in search of defenders that offer a high floor due to defensive actions.
