Trade Newton?
Can I trade Cam Newton and Torrey Smith for Drew Brees and Andre Brown? I lost Benson, still have Rice and Shonn Greene. Picked up Alex Green.

    Well we may as well block out the fact that Brown is in this trade, since he's not going to do anything unless Bradshaw gets hurt. So it basically comes down to the question of whether Brees is worth Newton and Torrey. In my opinion, he is, and here's why. Brees has to keep throwing and throwing to keep the Saints in games, he's going to continue to put up massive numbers all year just because he has to. Newton on the other hand is having the exact same kind of season as last year (His projected season stats are almost identical to last year's) and Torrey is a huge boom-or-bust candidate from week to week. You have the WR to make up for his loss, in my opinion, so I would pull the trigger and have a good backup QB for this week.

    if you can get brees - do it. if not take comfort in the thought that cam has the 7th best qb sched. for remaining games. brees has the 3rd. another thought would be a serviceable qb and a nice rb - you seem thin there - also how does your wr depth look after losing smith? just thoughts...good luck skip

    Brews over Norton is obviously a win for the Brees side. Andre Brown won't really do a lot going forward compared to Smith. I am not a fan of Greene and the Jets. What are the rest of your WR like?

    Why would you want Andre Brown? I understand Drew Brees but I do not think you will gain from this trade.

    My WRs are Cruz, Colston, Andre Roberts and Randall Cobb, so I feel comfortable there. Basically I've given up on Newton and RBs are at a premium in my league.

    Since I asked the Q and everyone is down on Brown, I went out and got Stephens-Howling (R. Williams is on IR). Do you all think I have to offer Smith AND Newton for Brees?
