3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Tuesday 2/7/23

In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside -- if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists, as well.

Ideally, we want players who will get a lot of ice time together on an even-strength line and a power-play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.

We had six games last night and we've got six games tonight. Let's try to find the best stacks we can use for Tuesday night.

Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers look like they have figured things out this season. They've gone 7-1-2 in their last 10 games and have some important pieces back in their lineup. Most importantly for us, the lines are set up fairly nicely for stacking.

We obviously will always check who Connor McDavid ($10,600) is playing with first when considering stacking the Oilers. He has 16 points more than any other player in the NHL and leads the league with 41 goals. Zach Hyman ($9,500) has taken advantage of playing with McDavid at even strength and on the power play, and he has been on fire of late. Hyman has scored six goals in his last five games and posted over 30 FanDuel points in five of those six games. Dylan Holloway ($4,000) is the third member of this line -- and an intriguing one. He is a talented youngster that comes with an affordable salary.

The Oilers are on the road tonight taking on the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit is not a playoff contender this season and is in the bottom half of the league in goals against per game. They will have lots of problems matching up against McDavid and company tonight.

Edmonton's implied team total is the second-highest on tonight's slate. It's always an option to play Leon Draisaitl ($10,100) with McDavid; they are the two highest scorers in the league and are lethal on the power play. Tonight it makes a lot of sense to go that route, but the first-line stack is the preferred option.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning got embarrassed last night. They lost 7-1 to in-state rival Florida. If any team can bounce back from that, it's definitely going to be Tampa. They have a matchup that should see them be able to do just that tonight.

Tampa loaded up their top line for the game last night. Steven Stamkos ($8,900) moved up to the first line to play with Brayden Point ($8,300) and Nikita Kucherov ($9,900). These are the team's three leading scorers, and they all play together on the first power play. Kucherov is on pace to beat his points total from the 2018-19 season that saw him win the MVP and the scoring title. Point is on pace for a career-high in goals this season. They set these paces before a goal scorer as deadly as Stamkos was playing with them at even strength, and it could be even better with him.

The Lighting will face the San Jose Sharks at home tonight. The Sharks have allowed the fourth-most goals per game this season and have some of the league's worst goaltending.

Tampa's top line -- with all of their best forwards -- could be considered one of the best in hockey, and it makes for a dangerous stacking option tonight.

Seattle Kraken

It's hard to imagine that anyone would have picked the Seattle Kraken to be an offensive juggernaut this season. They are currently fourth in goals per game, and that has led them to first place in the Pacific Division. They may have a tough matchup on paper, but they are in an interesting spot tonight.

The first line offers an affordable way to get correlation. Jordan Eberle ($6,300) is second on the team in points with 38, and Jared McCann ($6,500) leads the team with 23 goals. Alexander Wennberg ($4,700) hasn't done quite as well as his two linemates but is a quality playmaker at center who will play with these guys on the top power play.

With the Kraken, not only do you get one fully correlated line that can fit into stacks, you get two. Matty Beniers ($6,000) looks like he will return after missing time just before the break. He plays with Jaden Schwartz ($5,500) and Andre Burakovsky ($6,600) on the second line and second power play. Burakovsky has been great in his first season with Seattle. He is the team's leading scorer at this point of the season.

The Kraken are facing the New York Islanders tonight. The Islanders have a reputation as a stellar defensive team, and they've allowed the sixth-fewest goals in the league. However, some of their underlying numbers suggest that they are just being propped up by goaltending. They are in the bottom 10 in expected goals allowed, scoring chances allowed, and high-danger chances allowed on a per-60-minute basis.

Goalie Ilya Sorokin has often been the hero for the Islanders this season, but if he has an off night, Seattle is set up nicely to pounce and be a sneaky stack you might need on this slate.
